Slideshow Powerpoint Presentation

October 22, 2008. Everyone in the class was assigned to pick a topic of their choice and present it using the online source (www.slideshare.com). This was an individual project in which was designed to teach the class how to make a simple power point presentation. I’ve made power points before, and so this is nothing new to me. In my opinion, it was easy assignment but I learned a lot because of the presentation of my classmates.
My topic was about S’mores because for one, I love food. Secondly, it had little but brief information and lastly, it was easy to present. My presentation was short, simple, and literally sweet.

Online Word Processors

On September 22, 2008, our assignment was all about online word processors. Mr. Jenkins introduced four different types of online word processors: iNetword, Zoho, Think Free, and Google Docs. The class was divided into four groups and we were assigned to work on one online program. My group had Zoho to work on and this program is really similar to Microsoft Word. You can write documents and send documents to your classmates. So far, using the Zoho software is a good learning experience and it can be very useful when it comes to writing documents. I’m still learning how to use the features, but in terms of user friendly, I would rate it an eight.

Slide Show

Photobucket is the slide show software that I enjoyed the most. It had the best features and there are so many different effects. I best feature about the photobucked is that you can add music to the slideshow, which makes the presentation less boring and exciting to watch. The other slideshow sites had good features as well, but photobucket is my number one pick :).

Reflection on Mnemograph

I like the Mnemograph site because it's a fast way to make timelines. The cool thing about mnemograph is that you can add pictures to your timeline and make it different colors. It's not that complicating because it gives directions on how to get started. I am not yet familiar with all the features and I'm just getting started. I'm glad that this site was introduced to me because I know that it will definitely help me enhance my technology skills.

Learning Experience

During the past three weeks, my time spent in Intro. to Computers for Teachers has definitely been a learning experience. I'm excited for the upcoming activities and assisnments, because I know that this class will definitely help me to better pursue my future goals. So far, I've been discovering so many different sites, learning how to blog, making diagrams or maps, and even making a timeline using a special site online. There is just so much to learn!
Now that I'm taking this class, I am more aware of the internet and my computer settings. When I go online now, I take the time to notice all the different features and I exlore beyond what I see. Overall, I feel like I'm learning the basics of computers and so far it's been really fun! I can't wait to dig deeper and learn more ways of how to enhance my technology skills.
